What do we see?
The graph below shows an upward trend in water consumption. However, diverse weather conditions mean that this trend is not constant. Groundwater is used the most (44%), followed by rainwater (23%).
What’s the aim?
In a circular economy, we want to limit the use of raw materials like water. This can be achieved not only by being more economical with our water but mainly by using it more efficiently.
What does this indicator measure?
This indicator measures how much water is used in Flemish agriculture and indicates where that water comes from. The data comes from the Flemish government’s Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.
